Did You Know?
THE SALVATION ARMY have held Sunday Services in Hinckley for well over a
hundred years. They are bright happy Christian Meetings, in which everyone
can participate.
Any Questions?
- What is the Salvation Army?
- The Salvation
Army is an international, multi-racial Christian community, which combines a
fervent, joyous religious faith with a practical, efficient and world-wide
social service.
- What happens in a Salvation Army Meeting?
- The Christian
message is shared in a down to earth, easy to understand, and enjoyable
manner. Songs (hymns) are a feature as is participation by the Band and
choir. The accent is on enjoying a personal faith in a personal friend,
Jesus Christ.
- Do I have to wear a uniform?
- The short answer is NO. The
uniform is worn by those members who, of their own free will, have made a
full commitment to become "soldiers" of the salvation Army. Many people who
attend do not wear uniform, but are still able to share in Christian
fellowship having chosen the Salvation Army as their church.
- Can anyone
attend?
- Quite simply YES. The Salvation Army knows no barriers of race,
education, social position, age or sex. Consequently, you, your family,
friends and neighbours will be welcome.
- What sort of people are
Salvationists?
- Very little different from most people! They come from all
classes of society, and all parts of the world. There are Salvationist
teachers, sportsmen, dustmen and politicians, illiterate Salvationists and
Salvationists with doctorates. There are Salvationists whose parents,
grandparents and great-grandparents were attached to the organisation, and
there are Salvationists who but a few weeks ago belonged to many different
churches, or to none at all.
